The Operational
Risk Management
department of
a major Saudi
Arabian bank
is seeking a
specialist in
Insurance and
Risk Management
industry for
the position
of Head of the
Loss Management
unit.
Job description
As the senior
Risk Management
officer in the
unit, the successful
candidate will
be responsible
for handling
and managing
all facets of
the banks insurance
coverage, with
a strong focus
on managing
insurance liability
matters. You
will also be
responsible
for managing
insurance claims
in order to
limit losses
and to investigate
insurance related
matters arising.
Job requirements
A Bachelor
degree
in business
and
finance.
At least
4 years
experience
in insurance
or related
field.
A wide
range
of knowledge
in the
insurance
industry,
preferably
within
the
banking
sector
and
a good
knowledge
of loss
management
and
operational
risk
management.
Strong
knowledge
and
skills
business
analysis,
reporting,
and
writing
skill.
Ability
to liaise
and
communicate
with
insurers,
underwriters,
management
and
staff
Excellent
skills
in English
or Arabic
or both
languages.
Credit Report
Analyst
The Report Analysis
& Generation
Unit is an operation
within the Risk
Management Division
of Riyad Bank
responsible
for designing,
generating and
producing tailor-made
control, audit,
statistical
and business
reports from
data residing
on both the
Bank's mainframe
computer systems
and file servers,
using ACL and
Cognos software
Following recent
developments
in data management
and storage,
the Bank is
now seeking
to enhance the
Unit's ability
to produce reports
and consequently,
is now looking
to recruit two
additional members
of staff.
While candidates
shall undertake
training during
their probation
period, it shall
be focused on
the Bank's systems
and procedures.
Consequently,
prior experience
in the use of
ACL and / or
Cognos (or similar
analytical tools)
is essential.
A good general
knowledge of
banking is also
required.
Candidates shall
also be expected
to have a good
knowledge of
databases, file
formats and
the production
of reports,
and be disciplined
in office management
skills. A knowledge
of mainframe
computer systems
and environments
would be an
advantage.
Finally, English
language is
essential but
English / Arabic
would be preferable.
We shall also
be seeking to
appoint a Manager
for the Unit
later this year
and consequently,
this position
may be offered
to a suitable
candidate or
a candidate
may subsequently
be promoted
to this position.
This is a high
risk area of
operation producing
reports that
are relied upon
for control
and decision
making purposes.
Accordingly,
the position
demands strict
adherence to
established
procedures,
the ability
to interpret
business users'
requirements
in terms of
which data to
access and use
in the report
and an ability
to think laterally.
Discipline in
all aspects
of the work
is essential.
