Dear Customer, please adhere to the following instructions to avoid credit card fraud risk.

Upon receiving the card:
  • Sign new cards as soon as you receive them.
  • Keep your card account numbers and personal identification number (PIN#) in a confidential place and separate from your cards.
  • Check your cards periodically to make sure none are missing.
  • Destroy and dispose of copies of receipts, airline tickets, travel itineraries, anything that displays your cards’ numbers.
  • Never divulge your PIN or have it written down. Never write your PIN on your card. Destroy PIN mailers.
  • Each card should have its own PIN. If you have more than one card, do not use the same PIN number for all cards.
While using the card for shopping at stores ,through the phone or mail orders:
  • “Card Not Present” Transactions remain the most common crime reported. This typically involves the theft of genuine card details that are then used to make a purchase over the phone or by mail order.
  • Subscribe to 3D secure through Riyad Online before making any internet purchases. Verified by Visa and Master Card Secure, checkout sites will require your authentication information before authorizing your purchase.
  • Never give anyone the password that you use to log on to your online account or use to shop using 3D Secure.
  • Card ID Theft and account takeover (phishing) are also valid threats and customers should never provide their personal details or allow their cards to get in compromising situations. Report all requests to divulge any personal details, even if the Riyad Bank name or branding is being used and looks genuine.
While shopping:
  • Be aware of shoulder-surfing at POS and ATM. Cover the PIN pad when you enter the PIN at an ATM or POS. Report lost or theft of your card ASAP.
  • Keep cards where you can see them at all times – cards can be skimmed/cloned very quickly so never allow shop staff to take them out of your sight.
While traveling:
  • Contact the bank before you travel overseas. If you have a smart card (EMV), use a Riyad Bank ATM to do a transaction such as balance enquiry at least one week before you travel. This ensures that the PIN is correct and your card is working in an EMV environment.
  • The UK, countries in Europe and South Africa accept smart cards. To make purchases with smart cards you must have a valid PIN.
  • Ensure that the Bank has your mobile phone number and in case you don’t receive SMS notifications, contact us through our toll-free number immediately.
  • Beware of suspicious SMS sent to obtain your personal information for fraudulent purposes.
  • Review your balance statement regularly and check each and every transaction, specially small unidentified ones since they prelude larger frauds. Remember that you have 30 days, starting from the balance statement’s issue date, to file a complaint.
  • At the time of making hotel/car rental reservations through the Internet or by telephone/mail order, please carefully read terms/conditions & cancellation policy. Once you accept, you will be liable as per terms/conditions and cancellation policy.
